Description
Painted during the summer of 2020, this painting captures the striking blue skies and sense of stillness that became so familiar during the pandemic. With no planes overhead and far less noise and activity, there was something strangely peaceful about looking up and noticing the sky in a way we perhaps hadn’t before.
The rich royal blue gives this painting a different feel from my softer, paler meadow skies. For me, it brings back those moments of calm and beauty during an otherwise uncertain time, and the feeling of hope that came as summer arrived and the world slowly began to open up again.
The original has since found a lovely home with a couple in Kent.
