Description
This small oil painting is part of a series of floral studies, created as I began exploring a looser, more impressionistic style of painting.
Working in oils with brushes and touches of palette knife, I tried to keep the marks light and resist the temptation to overwork each piece. I love the almost Victorian tile quality that emerged in the yellow studies, with their muted colours, texture and slightly nostalgic feel.
