Description
A gallery quality giclée limited edition print on Hahnemüle Photorag paper, with archival inks.
It is signed, titled, and numbered.
Inspiration for this painting came from my love of flowers, especially the mixed array of colours on offer at the many flower markets and stalls around London, where I was living at the time this was painted. It was the first painting I had created in many years, and the very first time I had attempted using oil paint on such a large scale. Using a palette knife, rather than a brush allowed me to create movement and depth to the painting.
Because I had suffered with a lack of confidence in my creative ability for many years, the medium allowed me to be free, slow down the creative process and be less caught up in the detail.
I love the movement and the colour, which somehow always makes me feel lighter and more relaxed, so much so that I can’t part with the original.
