Sometimes stepping back is exactly what sparks a new idea. That’s how this year’s open house is shaping up, a weekend in May that will celebrate a fresh perspective and a love of this beautiful part of the world.
I hadn’t planned to open for this year’s artist open house, but literally 2 weeks before registration closed, I had the idea to do something a little different — to share the experience with my friend Emma Christopherson.
For the first bank holiday weekend only, Emma and I will be showing our work side by side — my original oil florals, landscapes and seascapes paintings, and mixed media pieces alongside her calming yet energising seascapes and paintings of swimmers. My home, will be carefully curated to celebrate the coast at Brighton and the countryside of Sussex.
We’re looking forward to arranging the work and enjoying this intimate, one-off three-day exhibition. I’m back, not as originally planned, but in a different and exciting way.
If you can’t make the opening weekend, my prints, cards, and other products will be available every weekend of May at Albert Mews Studio, run by the wonderful Martha Mitchell, and Jo Corney of Lume Lighting.
We can’t wait to welcome you. This weekend feels personal and unique, and I hope you’ll sense the care, attention, and thought behind it as soon as you step inside.
