• Being Thankful!

I had already written an entry for today, but somehow it didn’t feel right to write about something that seemed so trivial in the grand scheme of things. Sometimes I know it’s hard not to get caught up in the things we might think are missing from our lives, when we constantly compare ourselves to friends, family members, or people online, but what tragedy often reminds us, is we should be thankful for what we do have. Those poor people that have had their lives cut short, just going about their everyday activity, is just so sad, but filling the world with hate isn’t going to make it better. To…

  • Bucket lists

    Bucket lists?

I’ve been wondering recently if everyone has a bucket list or at least goals for each stage of their life, or am I in the minority in that I always have a ‘to do’ list at the back of my head?! By that, I don’t just mean a list of things that need to be done on a weekly/monthly basis, as I’m pretty sure I’m not alone in that most people have one of those lists, even if it’s in their heads. I’m thinking more about the things that make you tick, goals and experiences, achievements in your lifetime! I remember when I was much younger, I knew I wanted to…

  • Lets talk about men!

It seems to me there’s so much focus in the media about women putting off becoming a parent till much later in life, but what about men, do they also fall into this same pattern? (just for the record I’m not a fan of the assumption that women are ‘putting off’ having children, as personally, I don’t feel I’ve been intentionally delaying motherhood, it’s just things haven’t worked out for me yet). The more I speak to women that have had their eggs frozen, the more I notice that many of them have one thing in common, they simply haven’t met the right guy yet. So even with the increase of…

  • egg freezing

Sticking your head in the sand!

There are many things we learn from past relationships and decisions we have made, or in my case choices which I didn’t make, but I think the most important thing is that we learn from the past and try and ensure history doesn’t repeat itself. When I spoke at the Smart Egg event last week, one of the pieces of advice I gave to the ladies that listened to what I had to say about my egg freezing experience is don’t put off decisions surrounding your fertility, in other words, don’t stick your head in the sand! I originally looked into egg freezing in 2014 and for one reason or…

  • Christmas a year on….

It’s funny how Christmas changes as you grow up…. when I was a kid I would have been in bed by now, trying desperately to go to sleep, as I knew Santa wouldn’t visit until I was fast asleep. As I am the youngest of four, there wasn’t anyone else to keep the magic going once I stopped believing, so for a few years’ Christmas lost its sparkle, instead, it became an excuse to add dates to my social calendar and then take time out to relax at home with my family. Things changed in our family when my sister had her first child almost 21 years ago.  Since then I’ve…
